From "No-Frills Beach Shack" to Tropical Paradise:

The Hallett Residence in Islamorada is a testament to vision, resilience, and the transformative power of collaboration. Originally a simple 1,500-square-foot stilt house, this property underwent a remarkable journey to become the stunning oasis featured in HGTV and Florida Design.

Rising from the Ashes:

Entrepreneur Jonathan Hallett initially saw the potential in the unassuming beach house. However, Hurricane Irma's wrath in 2017 necessitated a complete rebuild. Hallett partnered with Curry-Dixon Construction, known for their expertise in navigating strict Florida Keys building codes. John Dixon, co-owner of Curry-Dixon Construction, says, "We essentially started from scratch, nearly doubling the original footprint to create a space ideal for hosting."

A Collaborative Masterpiece:

The result? A luxurious 2,500-square-foot wood home with a connected accessory dwelling unit (ADU), boasting five bedrooms and six bathrooms. To complement the stunning interior, landscape architect Craig Reynolds was brought on board. Reynolds' extensive experience in the Keys ensured the outdoor spaces were not only beautiful but also resilient against tropical storms.

A Tropical Oasis Takes Shape:

Hallett's vision for the outdoor area was clear: maximize ocean views, create comfortable gathering spaces, and incorporate a variety of palm trees. Reynolds delivered, crafting a design that included two pools – a deep one for swimming and a shallow one for lounging – alongside lush landscaping. Hallett's personal touch shines through with details like a teak pool table and ample storage for water toys.
